Lodge Construction Project

This Page Contains the Information About our New Building Construction

 

This was an initiative that has been discussed for many years amongst the brethren of our Lodge, but didn't take off until the 2010-2011 Administration under the leadership of then Worshipful Past Master Leroy Brunson and advisement of our Board of Trustees:
(WPMs Charles Holmes -Chairman, Keith Jones, Kerry Brown, Le'Andre Bennett, and Leroy Brunson). 

 

The following is a breakdown since that administration:

2010 - 2011 (WPM Leroy Brunson)

A.) Discussions and Meetings were constant to include realtors and Market Research.
B.) The Craft was informed and voting conducted and passed in the affirmative to sell the property.
C.) Preliminary Designs and Drafts were presented.
D.) Discussions with the City of Fredericksburg were conducted to purchase the property.
E.) Property search for temporary location/domicile was initiated.

2011 - 2012 (WPM James J. Manning III) 

A.) Temporary location/domicile search continued and agreement confirmed.
B.) Property was sold and closure took place followed by an immediate vacate therefrom.
C.) Temporary storage obtained and contract signed. 
D.) Search for new property and general contractor continued. 
E.) Real Estate purchased (2 adjacent lots).
F.) More detailed building designs and drawings received and presented.

2012 - 2013 (WPM Larry D. Baker)

A.) Search for new property and general contractor via Request For Quotes (RFQs).
B.) General Contractors presented their proposals and followed by selection of a general contractor.
C.) Contract revised and entered with the General Contractor. 
D.)  Building designs and drawings refined and approved to move forward.
E.) Site Permit acquired which included some of the following actions: Plats submitted (County Approved), Site Plans submitted (County Approved), Erosion Bond, Liability Insurance, etc.
F.) Initial submissions for the building permit were submitted. 
G.) A Project Plan (w/ budget line items) was drafted by WPM Baker and Bro. Milton Bratton.
H.) Search for the Cornerstone began in which our DDGM, PM Le'Andre Bennett, took the lead. 
I.) The Stonesetters Club was officially established. 
J.) Discussions with all pertinent stakeholders took place.
K.) Groundbreaking took place in order to begin the site work.
L.) Internal Documentation and Processes were established to properly manage this major intiative during this term and thereafter.

2013 - 2015 (WM Warren M. Mann)

A.) Building Permit acquired.
B.) Materials Received by the General Contractor on our behalf.
C.) The building is done... 100% complete 
D.) Finishing touches have begun as of 01 Oct. 2014 which includes purchasing new furniture and appliances. 
E.) The Grand Opening and Lodge Dedication was held on 15 Nov. 2014
